The Board of Directors of Wikimedia Small Projects User Group supervises the group and its work, and also to being in charge of its administration. It is one of the three main organs of the group.
It is conformed for three members, two permanent and one temporary. The leadership position is in hands of the General Coordinator.
Each Commission member has a vote and decisions are made by an absolute majority vote through annual meetings in ordinary session.
History
The Administrative Commission's tasks in beginning was part of the Basic Committee that would be in charge of the administration of the group until the approval of a Basic Text.
Once the initial structure of the group is established, the Committee would be dissolved and its functions are transferred to the General Coordinator until it is recognized by the Wikimedia Foundation.
Structure
In accordance with the provisions of Article IV of the Fundamental Text, the Board of Directors shall be composed of seven members: four of them shall be elected by the Assembly, two shall be appointed by the newly elected Board of Directors and one shall be reserved for the founder of the group. The members elected by the Assembly shall serve a five-year term, renewable for up to one additional term, for a maximum total of ten consecutive years. The members appointed by the new Board of Directors shall serve a three-year term, renewable for one additional term, for a total of six consecutive years. The founder's position shall be permanent. Both the founder and the four members elected by the Assembly shall have voting rights, while the members appointed by the Board shall act as advisors and shall only have voting rights if there are no voting members.
The elected and appointed seats may be renewed six months before the end of the current term during a Council meeting. At this meeting, an evaluation of the council member's contributions and their willingness to continue in office for a new term will be conducted.
It has seven seats; four seats chosen by the Assembly and one reserved for the group's founder who will be full voters, and two selected by the Board of Directors who will be alternate voters.
Each member of the Board has one vote, and decisions are made by the affirmative vote of the voting members present at the bimonthly meeting. Decisions can also be made through written resolutions without a prior meeting, which will only be approved if all members of the Council sign them.
Following this recognition in 2021, the General Coordinator delegated administrative functions to the Administrative Commission, which initially consisted of three members and was later expanded to five. During the group's restructuring process, the Administrative Commission was dissolved and its responsibilities were transferred to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
